Garagò is for discovering events and finding company to enjoy them together. These guidelines describe how to behave in the community in order to keep it welcoming and safe. By using Garagò you undertake to respect them.
1. The spirit of the community
Mutual respect: treat other people as you would like to be treated.
Sociality: Garagò is designed for making friends and sharing experiences at events. It is not a dating app.
Authenticity: present yourself as you really are.
Openness: the community is made up of different people; diversity is a value.
2. Prohibited conduct
The following are not allowed:
harassment, intimidation or threats towards other users;
offensive, vulgar or aggressive language;
discrimination based on gender, orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability or other personal characteristics;
spam, unsolicited commercial messages or deceptive behavior;
fake profiles or untruthful identities, impersonation of other people;
any contact with or grooming of minors: the service is reserved for adults (18+). The sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of abuse or exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited. Garagò applies a zero-tolerance policy: any violation entails the immediate removal of the account and reporting to the competent authorities;
unlawful, violent, sexually explicit content or content that violates the rights of others;
the sharing of other people's personal data without consent.
3. Content and events not allowed
Garagò hosts real events and content consistent with its purpose of sociality. In particular, the following are not allowed:
fictitious or non-existent events, or "events" that are in reality personal requests (not real public events);
commercial promotions disguised as events;
scams, deceptive promotional schemes, financial solicitations or attempts at solicitation for commercial purposes;
use of Garagò for purposes other than the declared sociality (for example recruitment or unlawful purposes);
illegal content or content contrary to public order.
Garagò may remove non-compliant events and content and suspend or exclude the responsible accounts, with a statement of reasons and the possibility to contest the decision. For details, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.
4. Safety in real-life meetings
Meetings take place in real life, under your free choice and responsibility. Garagò puts people in contact but is not present at the meetings. Some practical tips:
meet in public places;
inform a trusted person about where and with whom you will be;
do not share personal or sensitive data too soon (address, financial data, documents);
listen to your instinct: if something does not convince you, you always have the right not to show up or to leave;
arrange your own transport independently.
5. What happens if you break the rules
Garagò intervenes when it receives a report or becomes aware of a violation. The measures are proportionate to the severity:
warning;
suspension from the contact features (chat and "Find Company");
permanent exclusion from the contact features for serious violations of respect for other users;
removal of the account in the most serious cases.
Those excluded from the contact features may possibly continue to browse events, but can no longer interact with other people. In the event of a measure, we communicate to you a brief statement of reasons and you can contest the decision by writing to info@garago.app.
6. How to report
If something is wrong, you can report it:
through the report of the individual message in the chat;
through the reporting form available in the app.
After a report, the owner assesses it and adopts, if necessary, the measures described above. Reports concerning the safety of persons have priority. The reporting tool must be used in good faith: the repeated submission of manifestly unfounded reports, or the systematic abuse of the tool, may result in a warning and, in case of repetition, suspension from the contact features.
7. Serious facts: contact the authorities
Garagò is not an emergency channel. In the event of a crime, immediate danger or a threat to the safety or life of a person, contact law enforcement directly. Garagò does not monitor real life and deals directly with in-app conduct (offensive language, harassment in chat, behavior contrary to these guidelines). However, should it become aware of unlawful or violent behavior that occurred offline on the occasion of events linked to Garagò (for example through complaints or clear evidence), it reserves the right to suspend or remove the responsible person's account in order to protect the safety of other users, cooperating with the authorities.
